These are not "off the shelf" items. They are custom print on demand when ordered. The scenes are printed to scale based on a recognizable object and perspective in the image. If you order multiple backdrops we will custom blend them providing natural transitions to and from each backdrop to create a custom horizon tailored to your layout. If you order multiple backdrops we will contact you once you place your order to get the specific details on the sequence you want the backdrops placed from left to right and discuss your options for additional cloud patters, sky colors and the custom blended transitions. If you order multiple backdrops and need blending we will email you a proof for your approval or to request changes before we print them so you know exactly what the scenes will look like.
Our Backdrops, produced by RailroadBackdrops.com are recognized as the best backdrops in the modeling industry and are made of commercial graphics display grade material. these backdrops ARE NOT printed on paper or cardstock, These backdrops are printed on a sign grade polypropylene photo film with a non glare matte finish overlaminate to protect them. They are scratch resistant, water resistant and resistant to most household cleaners, alcohol, typical modeling materials such as glue, spray paint, sculpt-a-mold, plaster, etc., For more information see the durability video created by the staff at Model Railroader Magazine testing our product posted on our YouTube page at AffordableModelRailroads
The size you select is the size of the material your backdrops are printed on. All of our backdrops include an approximately 3/16" white border all the way around. This will affect the height of the actual print but not the length (Example: if you order a 24 inch x 96 inch backdrop the actual print size will be approximately 23-5/8 inches x 96 inches).
Our backdrops can be mounted to most drywalled household interior walls with a vinyl compatible wallpaper paste or PVA or typical white glue. They can also be mounted directly to most non porous backing board such as hardboard (typically called by the brand name Masonite), styrene, expanded rigid PVC board, smooth luan or other non ribbed paneling or similar board.
